Expert Analysis

Givens does it all for the Lady Eagles and never stops battling. Helps with the ball handling duties, either dribbling or making good passes to break the press. Is a tenacious defender, using her strength and athleticism to rebound and force steals on the perimeter. She even was key to a second half comeback attempt with good shooting from the beyond arc. With a battler mentality and an out standing all around game, Givens is one of the top “Swiss Army Knife” seniors in Oklahoma.

Dasia returns to Weatherford from Duncan. Dasia could be the most versatile player on this list. I have seen her play Point Guard down to power forward. She is just a athlete who plays basketball. An outstanding shooter from beyond the arch keeps the defense honest opening driving lanes downhill. The small forward fits perfectly in an open offense that applies pressure on defense.
When visiting Dasia, she mentioned that she is also a outstanding soccer player, which explains the speed and agility she has. In Arkansas event her play had coaches taking notes. Dasia style of play fits great with the players Weatherford has returning. Expect a defensive minded team that is looking to put points on the scoreboard.

Givens seemingly always plays with energy and toughness. That was the case on Saturday morning, but came with an important addition. She was scoring the rock too. There was running the floor and other hustles instances. While also connecting at least three times from beyond the arc. Then had a great score against size that started with a great ball fake, and ended with an athletic step through move for a scorer. Energy and scoring, what’s not to like about a competitor like Givens?

Dasia could be the most versatile and athletic guard in this group. I know she listed among the top small forwards but Dasia will play the 2-3 spots at the next level. Myself having to defend her was concern with the outside shooting she has and the ability to get to the rim on poor closeouts. Aggressive guard on offense that can go coast to coast take on the contact for the old fashion 3-point play. The versatility comes in play when she moves to block on a small guard. It is as if the guard is defending a 6’0 post.

A very athletic small forward that can hurt with the 3-point shot if you lose her in the office. Really effective in a open offense that allows her to attack the rim using her athleticism to score at the rim. Great cutter off the ball making poor defenders with slashes and back cuts.
Tough defender that has quick hands and feet to apply that 94ft pressure. Creates turnovers with deflections and steals. Interest has picked up Dasia during the Spring Live Period. She also just announced that she will be playing next year at Weatherford.

Slots in as an unselfish, Swiss Army Knife guard/wing for a good Team Oklahoma squad. Rebounds very well for his size, thanks to quality all around athleticism. Including second jumping ability that really shines when she grabs contested rebounds. Smart mover off the ball, while also having the first step to pressure the rim as a driver. Was the driving force for a darkhorse Duncan team this past season that made nose in 5A. Now is showing her ability to fit into and thrive in a role on a talented grassroots team.

A very good athletic small forward that can play the 2 or 3 spots on the floor. A slashing guard that plays the 3 guard on offense. A nice outside shot but really excels in a DDM motion or 5 out offense that allows her to be that physical downhill driver. Nice outside shooter that can knock the shot. A player that catches your eye when watching the team in transition.

Possibilty one of the most versatile players I saw Saturday. Strong skill set in all areas. Played the 1-5 positions Saturday. Good ball handling skills allowed her to bring ball up the floor on the break. Showed range knocking down several 3’s. Tough downhill driver finding the gaps in the defense getting to the rim. A double/double potential player with her scoring abilities and strong rebounding.

Defensive minded guard, who turned defense into offense with quickness. Good instincts with helpside deflections, steals and even a block thanks to quick off the floor jumping ability. Finished with both hands at the rim in the clips provided. Good body control and feel to avoid defenders on drives. Appears to be a southern Oklahoma gem set for a big junior year at Duncan.
