Blackwell is concluding her high school career with an exclamation point. Not only has she achieved 1,000 points for her career, she also eclipsed the 1,000-rebound mark as well. Southside Christian is concluding a 2025-26 season that saw the Sabres finish with a 20-3 overall record in addition to a mark of 8-2 to finish second in Region 2-AAA. Blackwell’s play has also lifted the Sabres to a ranking of sixth in the most recent coaches’ poll of 3A teams. Southside Christian will begin this season’s 3A state tournament at home hosting Union County this Tuesday. Blackwell has also competed in track and field throughout her athletic career.

Blackwell made some good strides this spring on the Grassroots circuit with the SC Eagles White. Devyn looks to play inside the paint and work from side to side on the block. She constantly plays the game in hustle mode and works for position down low. Devyn has a good motor to play ends of the floor while staying active at all times.

Following a berth in the 1A state championship two seasons ago, the Sabres are looking for a return to being a statewide name. Blackwell is likely to be the centerpiece of that effort in the coming seasons. She particularly excelled last season – her first with Southside Christian – as a defender by rejecting many a shot and compiling many a steal. Blackwell is listed at 5-foot-10 and primarily plays the four. She has played up in class during this past AAU campaign as she ran grassroots with FCA Eagles’ 15U team. As last season clearly displayed, Blackwell is only getting started making waves at the high school level.

Blackwell played up a year in class this past AAU season as she participated alongside the 15U team of FCA Eagles. Last season was Blackwell’s first at Southside Christian and she showed herself to be an asset for the team – particularly as someone who can block shots and compile steals. Blackwell stands at 5-foot-10 and primarily operates as a four forward. The Sabres – a 1A team – has become used to winning basketball from its girls hoops program and Blackwell appears to be the cornerstone for returning Southside Christian to statewide prominence.
