Elana did a little bit of everything in a 49-44 win over GAC, pitching in 11 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks. She had two strong baseline drives where she finished through contact, scoring with both her right and left hand. In the fourth quarter Elana closed strong with seven points featuring a coast-to-coast pull-up, a corner three and a pair of free throws. Her size on the perimeter makes her a versatile presence on both ends of the floor, especially defensively where she can guard inside and out.

McMasters has had a very productive season for Holy innocents and has performed very well every time I have had a chance to see her play. McMasters put the proverbial nail in the coffin for Galloway with two HUGE threes late in the game. One shot came with just over a minute to play in transition on the right wing and a second three point make from McMasters followed with about 20 seconds left in the game. Elana swarmed the ball defensively coming up with several deflections and loose balls, as well as causing tie ups and extra possessions for Holy Innocents. McMasters knocked down a baseline jumper from about 10-12 feet earlier in the game. Her best basketball could still be ahead of her. She will definitely be an asset to whatever college program she plays for the next four years.

McMasters brings good size and shot-making ability to the wing. Her jumper is her calling card. When she catches rhythm, she’s capable of taking over games with her perimeter shooting.
Over the course of her career, she has improved her off-the-dribble scoring, adding counters to prevent defenders from simply running her off the line. She plays with confidence and understands spacing. With Division II and Division III programs involved, her shooting ability gives her a defined niche at the next level.

McMasters is one of the more consistent players in Georgia. Playing for a very successful Holy Innocents program, Elana knows the game well. She does an excellent job picking her spots on offense. She isn’t always the first option on offense, but when her number is called McMasters delivers. She has excellent size at almost 6′ tall for a guard. she rebounds the ball well and is an excellent defender. She can score from the perimeter, midrange, and around the basket. She is a very athletic kid that competes each play.

D-III and D-II programs are in on Elana. With good size on the perimeter, McMasters is a shot making wing who can take over games when she gets hot. Her jump shot is her best asset but over her career she has improved her off the dribble game. Against Milton, Elana had a baseline drive with her right hand on the left side. McMasters netted a corner jumper and hit a baseline 15-footer while going 4-4 from the foul line. Elana scored six of her 10 points in the fourth quarter to hold off Milton. She also added 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

Elana made some big shots in a win in Louisville over the weekend. She knocked down a corner three and hit some mid-range shots to help extend the lead for her team in a tight game. I was impressed with her ability to finish strong through contact with some nice moves to the rim. Her length and size make her a highly recruitable kid for the college level.

Elana brings size and shooting to the perimeter. The Anderson offeree shows her touch with a left-handed floater and a clean catch-and-shoot three. Defensively, her length disrupts passing lanes and shots. McMasters continues to grow as an off-the-dribble threat, adding layers to her offensive game.

Elana was one of the best shooters in the gym at Peach Games. She can really stretch the floor with her long frame and run the court as a versatile player with nice size. In transition, she kept her eyes up and had good pace and control with the rock in her hands. Her length was a problem on the defensive end with her active hands causing a ton of deflections. On a few drives to the basket, she did a fantastic job of using her body and being physical to create space for easy points.

I liked what I saw from Elana vs. River Ridge. She looked to establish her off the dribble game right away, scoring twice on drives in the first quarter. In total, all three of her hoops came by attacking the basket. McMasters posted 6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. For the big guard who is often times more used as a catch-and-shoot floor stretcher, it was a nice sign of growth to see her aggressively seek to make plays with

With nice size on the perimeter and a steady outside shot, the Anderson-offeree had two nice hoops in a rout of Hardaway. McMasters dropped in a floater with her left hand and later drilled a three. McMasters’ length also allowed her to make life tough on defense. She finished with 6 points and 2 rebounds.
