The Wrightstown guard has returned better than the previous season, and this one is no different. The Tiger has been a high-usage offensive since she got to High School, and this year, she’s taken a little over 30% of her team’s shots, and it’s working. At a point, volume is more important than efficiency, and Verbeten is at that tipping point. Verbeten is second in scoring in the Northeast Conference and has her Tigers team a game behind Marinette and Freedom atop the NEC. None of that even mentions she’s one of the best defensive guards in the conference.

The rising junior had her most efficient season last year, and it came while having more responsibility than she did in her first season with the Tigers. Verbeten earned playing due to her defensive prowess and ability to force turnovers on that end of the floor. However, her ability to put the ball in the basket makes her a two-way threat that can swing games in a postseason setting. Arguably, the most improved rising juniors from their first and second seasons.

I probably still underrate Verbeten, but there’s much more to come from her in her junior season. The 5’8 guard is at the heart of everything the Tigers do and led her team in most statistical categories last season. Verbeten is an excellent perimeter defender and has become a better shooter in the first few years at Wrightstown. She’s the type of player plenty of small schools in the area will want in their program.
