It’s easy to see way Ellie Borns of Western Iowa Express 17U AAU and Lewis Central High School is someone that puts up numbers in the scoring category. Her mental awareness on that side of the ball is impressive. She is really good on the fast break in transition with her vision and her ability to convert when she gets to the basket. She is a natural PG, with a SG scoring ability, and a CG’s defensive mindset. She isn’t afraid to contact but more-so welcomes it whenever she is by the bucket and that leaves opponents second guessing the next time they want to attempt to rough her up with a foul when she is about to score the rock. This was a good AAU campaign for Borns the last six months. Now it’s time to take everything she learned by playing with this group and to translate it back to LC this Winter.
