Ellie brings plenty of energy on the defensive end, showing the ability to elevate and block shots in the paint even against taller opponents. She does a good job holding her ground when matched up with bigger players. Ellie also has a quick spin move when attacking the paint that gives defenders little time to react, and she is always willing to dive after loose balls.

Shupe made her biggest impact on defense, where her instincts, anticipation, and effort created offense for her team. She protected the rim with a strong block, jumped passing lanes for steals, forced multiple turnovers with aggressive on-ball pressure, and quickly turned those defensive plays into transition scoring opportunities. Her athleticism and IQ allow her to change the momentum of a game.

Shupe knows how to drive and attacks gaps really well. She’ll split defenders and navigate her way to the basket for an easy layup, capable of finishing with her right and left hand. She’s active on defense and builds momentum on offense as she collects steals and pushes it up the floor for a fast break finish.

Solid frame guard that is good off the dribble and can score in the paint. Is deadly with the one or two dribble pullup in traffic over taller defenders. Has a good quick release on the perimeter behind the three point line. Has good anticipation on defense she does a good job playing the passing lanes for easy layups!
