Poitra has helped Turtle Mountain to a 6-1 start to the season and a current number 4 ranking in Class A basketball. She is playing some of the best basketball of her career. She is currently averaging 13.1 points per game, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.6 steals. She is shooting nearly 50% from the field and 42% from the three. She has gotten to the free throw line an average of 5 times per game and is shooting it at 81%. She is being extremely efficient offensively. She is also a very good defender. She is a big reason for the early season success for the Turtle Mountain Braves.

Emberlyn is a really impressive forward who does a lot of things great offensively.  She is very good at sealing up the lane for hi-lo passes.  I am also impressed with her ability to duck in and use a great double-dropstep move.  She does a really good job of drawing fouls and putting pressure on other teams’ posts.  She gets to the free-throw line and has a nice touch on her shot.
