A difficult task awaited McClure and her Dorchester Academy assembling as they entered its 2A SCISA championship clash at the Sumter County Civic Center. That task was dethroning a Cross Schools assembling that had departed from Sumter the last two occasions with state hardware. The Raiders needed overtime in order to dethrone the Stingrays, but the 13 points that were placed on the scoreboard courtesy of McClure helped Dorchester Academy to state euphoria. McClure also earned All-Tournament honors. She is a multi-sport athlete who has also excelled as a softball standout and was one of three sophomores on this past season’s Raiders team coached by Callie McClure. 

For the past few seasons, the road to a SCISA 2A state championship has gone through Cross Schools. That would apply to Dorchester Academy this past season as they matched up with the Stingrays in Sumter. The Raiders needed overtime but McClure’s 13 points were key in Dorchester Academy knocking Cross Schools off its perch via a 39-37 decision. McClure also claimed Region Player of the Year honors. McClure is a multi-sport athlete who also excels as a softball standout in addition to her basketball achievements. McClure was one of the three sophomores that were part of this past season’s Raiders team.  

A team’s chances of winning can be sure and pure with McClure. Dorchester Academy earned a berth in the 2A Upper State championship game with Lee Academy by virtue of a 53-30 victory over Andrew Jackson Academy. McClure would lead all point-getters for that contest with 18 points. Among the 18 she scored were 13 in the first half of play. The 11 rebounds brought down by McClure gave her a double-double and she also helped Raiders’ cause with six steals and four assists. She is one of three 2028s on this year’s Dorchester Academy group and also excels as a softball standout.
