Expert Analysis
Brandon Bradley | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Emery is long, wiry, bouncy, and an all-around nice athlete. She has a lot of untapped potential, but she has committed to playing a full grassroots slate this Spring, so it should undoubtedly help her improve, while also increasing her visibility in terms of her recruiting. She has nice skill, some touch to near the 3-point line, plus she can sit down and defend some away from the basket or protect the paint. Emery averaged 16.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.2 steals per game as a Junior.

Emery really hasn’t been a big-time grassroots kid in the past due to her volleyball abilities, but this year she has opted to play with the DistinXion program out of Southwest Indiana. She is extremely long and wiry, bouncy, and effortful. Additionally, she has touch to near the 3-point line, she can put it on the floor productively for 3-4 dribbles, and she can sit down and defend wings, forwards, and some posts.

Emery is someone the state is less familiar with, because she isn’t a big grassroots participant. She is long, wiry-strong, and very bouncy. She has speed, some quickness, and she’s versatile as well. She can knock down a 17-footer or attack the basket and finish. Emery is also comfortable playing in the paint, pursuing rebounds, and blocking shots. She is an excellent volleyball player, and that has drawn a lot of her attention. However, she has been great for Crawford County hoops, and I’d expect another strong high school season from her.

Emery just popped up on my radar this past Winter, as she compiled a strong statistical year, posting double-doubles most nights. I have not yet had the opportunity to see her live, but on film she definitely looks the part. She is extremely long, athletic, and bouncy. She can play around the block, knock down the 15-footer, or put it on the floor from the perimeter and attack the basket. I’ve heard she might also be a talented volleyball kid and focusing more of her time there.

I brought up Emery a few weeks ago as a potential newcomer to our 2026 rankings, and here she is. She has started to play some grassroots ball as well. She has nice height, great length, and she’s a nice all-around athlete who can play at all three levels. She does have some touch to the 3-point line, she can put it on the floor a little and get to the rim, but she has also shown the ability to pull up and knock down a 15-footer. She’s a nice pursuing rebounder, and she plays a lot more physical on the interior than she might appear. Keep an eye out for Emery, as she could surprise some this Spring.
