Emily has great length and athleticism as a guard. She drove to the basket with a burst to get by her defender and completed the play with a smooth inside hand finish. Emily is competitive and has a next-play mentality. After her shot was blocked, Emily immediately got the ball back by applying aggressive pressure on the perimeter, jumping up to deflect the pass, and securing the loose ball for a steal. She crashed the glass to secure offensive rebounds, finished confidently with her left at the rim, maintained a wide/athletic stance on defense, and moved her feet quickly laterally to stop dribble penetration. Emily used a good crossover and spin move to create space and switched hands to get an open look at the rim. She’s a promising prospect, and it showed at MBA Train and Play.
