Gabby Foster steadily made her presence felt for Detroit Mumford throughout the game. A smooth left-handed scorer, Foster consistently found her spots offensively, using her quickness and ball-handling to attack the rim and stretch the defense with perimeter shooting. Early in the game, Fort Wayne Snider didn’t guard the outside aggressively, allowing Foster to knock down multiple shots from around the three-point line, forcing the defense to adjust.
Beyond scoring, Foster showed strong decision-making and playmaking ability, creating opportunities for teammates and keeping her team in the game. Defensively, she stayed active on the perimeter, pressured the ball, and contested shots, helping disrupt Snider’s rhythm. Her poise, skill, and two-way impact made her one of the top performers for Mumford and a key reason the team remained competitive throughout the matchup.

Gabby stood out for Mumford at the LBI Mitten Opening because of her perimeter shooting, court vision, advanced ball-handling control, and precise passes. She penetrated gaps using a variety of crossover combinations and made an outstanding dump-off pass to a teammate at the rim for an assist. Gabby fired one-handed passes across the court and shot the ball confidently from beyond the arc. She buried a deep triple from the slot and added another from the corner. Gabby is an extremely talented true point guard.

Gabby is exactly the type of player I’d love to see take the floor at the Expo. A 2nd Team selection last year, she’s already proven she can compete at a high level, but what makes her exciting is the all-around impact she brings to the game. She has the skill set to score, defend, and make plays for her teammates, and her consistency makes her stand out every time she plays. Having her at the Expo would not only raise the level of competition but also give her another chance to showcase why she’s such a valuable player in the Class of 2026.

Gabby, a Second Team All Showcase selection at The PGH Michigan Expo, made her mark on both ends of the floor. She’s an elite ball-handler, capable of controlling the offense and creating opportunities. Offensively, Gabby is a consistent threat behind the arc, knocking down three-pointers with ease, and she has a nice floater to complement her outside game. Defensively, her quick hands make her a reliable force in disrupting opponents. I’m expecting Gabby to dominate her junior season at Macomb Dakota.

Vrooks-Foster was a highlight player at the event and had the look of an elite ball handler, not just at the event, but in the state and probably beyond that. Brooks-Foster was creative with her ball handling, but always under complete control.

Gabby put on a ball-handling clinic for Team 5 at The Expo. She had the ball on a string and showed off her range by connecting on a deep 3-pointer off the bounce. She effectively used a floater in the lane against taller players and displayed good hands on defense, coming away with many steals on the day.

Gabby separated herself from the pack last year with her lights-out shooting and defensive pressure. She dribbles with the ball on a string and has one of the smoothest transfers into a step-back jumper you will see on the court. I expect her to have another great day at The Expo on Saturday.

Foster is a little overlooked in my opinion. She plays up at a high level of competition, and still manages to do more than stand out. Foster was electric with the ball in her hands this summer. She attacked the defense with both hands and made plays for herself and her teammates off the bounce.

Gabby was an effective guard for Dakota at Northwood Team Camp on Saturday. Gabby hit a floater, drilled a pull-up jumper up top off a crossover dribble, attacked downhill, and demonstrated great sportsmanship by helping an opponent off the floor. She scored multiple layups during the OT Tourney, caused steals, and threw a dime assist on a rope to a teammate through defenders.
