On Feb. 7, Riles and her 2A Lake City assembling took a break from its region schedule to host the Gators of 4A Lakewood. Riles would turn in one of the signature performances of her young career when she scored a school record 52 points in a 75-32 drubbing of the Gators. She recently concluded her freshman season with the Panthers – her third at the varsity level considering her first occurred when she was in the seventh grade. In the 26 games she played this past season, Riles averaged 13.9 points, four rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.2 steals per contest.

While the inaugural Passion Driven Showcase mostly featured seniors and juniors, Riles once again displayed why she belongs on any court against more experienced competition. Another standout from Team Johnson which the 5-on-5 championship, she approaches the game with a heads-up attitude and takes a grand total of zero plays off. She is a consistent playmaker on both offense and defense who can put plenty a crooked number on the scoreboard. Riles keyed 2A Lake City’s big jump into the contenders’ chat last season by virtue of the Panthers’ 17-8 season. She averaged 12.2 points and three steals last season. There is a reason why Riles already holds offers from Florida, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Claflin, Allen and Voorhees.

In two seasons at the high school level, Riles has established herself as one of the signature prospects across the state – all before she plays her freshman season. The highly touted prospect from 2A Lake City recently landed offers from Voorhees and Allen. Riles’ play was a key factor in a 10-win improvement for Lake City from its 2023-24 showing in addition with being reclassified from 3A down to 2A. During her eighth-grade season, Riles averaged 12.2 points and three steals per contest. She helped the Panthers conclude last season with a 17-8 record and will be entering the 2025-26 season with heightened expectations.

When one has collegiate offers to ponder prior to beginning their freshman season, someone is doing a lot correct on that 94 by 50 feet of hardwood. Riles landed offers from Voorhees and Allen merely two weeks ago. Last season’s 2A Lake City assembling had a banner season, finishing with a 17-8 record and winning a tough Region 7-AA by finishing with a 10-2 mark. She followed up the stellar numbers she put up in her seventh grade season by averaging 12.2 points and three steals a contest as an eighth grader. Look for this already multi-talented youngster to continue to positively develop her game with experience – and land more collegiate looks in the process.

The Riles Files are already chock full of superb plays – and many of them occurred this past spring and summer when she ran with Twelve Time – Ja Morant’s AAU organization. A few more of them came this past weekend in the Pee Dee. Riles stood out in halfcourt drills and also displayed that she can connect from either midrange or long range. She will also give opposing ball carriers plenty of problems with her defense. Following a 2023-24 seventh grade season where she averaged 11.7 points and 1.1 steals per contest, Riles will take to the court for a Lake City squad that will move from 3A to 2A this season.
