Sam Duren | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
McSwain takes as much pride in forcing a five second count or taking a charge as she does in hitting a big three. That’s the type of hard working and passionate player she is. Her motor is always running on the defensive end and she impacts winning in ways that goes beyond the box score. On the offensive end, she’s an up tempo playmaker. Who can also hit big shots from deep. A box office player who plays with steel for Class 6A contenders Union.

McSwain is an “in your face” guard, who plays with infectious energy as a defender. She’s often seen applying on the ball pressure, forcing opponents into flustered passes, five second counts and other turnovers. Can swing momentum with the energy she brings to the court. There’s always rooms at the next level for athletic and defensive minded guards.

The Redhawks are making a push to be one of the better teams in Class 6A with impressive recent wins. At the heart of their team is the fiery McSwain. Sets the tone on defense as one of the top on the ball defenders and havoc causers in Oklahoma. Makes momentum swinging shots from the perimeter. Is speedy and crafty off the dribble. It’s clear her teammates feed off her passion and energy. One of the most entertaining players to watch in Oklahoma, and her impact goes beyond the box score.

The junior is always a blast to watch, because she brings it all 94 feet and every second she’s on the court. Pesky and aggressive defender, who is an energy giver. At one point her non stop motor helped forced a 10 second count. Hit big shoots throughout the first three quarters. A mix of threes and crafty scores off the dribble. Fourth quarter was a learning experience, with some mistakes. But with the passion she plays with, she is sure to bounce back from the mistakes and keep improving.

Fiery lead guard, who sets the tone on both ends. The first note on her game fittingly came when she slid over and took a charge. Which seemed to energize the Lady Redhawks in a big time match up with Edmond Memorial. The junior’s energy levels never dropped, as she applied great on the ball pressure defense. While also getting paint touches that set up quality looks for teammates. A dynamite player, who’s playing style clearly impacts winning.

Game Watched: vs Bixby, February 29th
The shifty sophomore guard was a fun watch with how she got after it on both ends of the court. She has good handles and quickness, which made her a big time threat off the bounce. Especially with some of the finishes she had through contact in the first half. Late in the game, she also had a great drive and dish to a teammate, who unfortunately missed. But the clutch play McSwain made to set up a good look still stood out on tape!
On the defensive end, there were the spark plug like moments that came with tenacious on the ball steals and aggression as an on the ball defender. While also rotating over two different times to take big charges. If the impact on both ends of the court is any indication of a usual game from McSwain, she’s a feisty lead guard that will need further monitoring from college coaches

I am really excited to see Bella on the court for Tulsa Union this season, especially after what I witnessed this past Sunday. To begin with, she was absolutely lights out from behind the arc. More than that, she played like a senior leader out there. Her defense was on point and she was a vocal leader during every drill and scrimmage. She’s a natural leader, a smooth ballhandler, and a very, very good defender. Bella has been to several elite camps including Oral Roberts, Northeastern State, and Southern Nazarene. I expect a big high school season this year and then the offers will be pouring in.

A young player on a high school team with a lot of talent, Bella definitely learned under fire and came out much better on the other side. She had a strong summer and spent a lot of time going to camps at some really good schools. She’s an undersized Point Guard, but her heart and hustle will always make her stand out and undoubtedly caught a few coaches’ eyes. Bella is an outstanding shooter from all levels and can just flat out score it. She won’t be contained. Add in the fact that she’s on a stellar grassroots team and you’ve got a player who is gonna be picking up the offers sooner rather than later and you may want to jump onboard, coaches!

Bella McSwain 2026 – Union: Bella played solid varsity minutes as a freshman and as her sophomore season campaign quickly approaches, she is showing signs that she will have a very productive year for the Lady Redhawks. McSwain has tightened up her ball handling – and, she was able to keep the offense going under pressure. She is getting to the basket more aggressively and was able to get to the free throw line quite a few times.
