Squire doesn’t play on the Grassroots Circuit as she focuses on softball it seems in the summer. Janiya a 3-sport athlete over at Ninety Six HS is a bit off the radar at times. She plays softball very well and volleyball in the fall. Janiya really does a nice job of playing bigger than her size and collecting rebounds on both sides of the floor.
Janiya averaged a double-double last season for the Lady Wildcats with 19.8 ppg and 14.3 rebounds a night. She starts her senior season with 909 career points and 869 rebounds.

Squire plays off the grid with the Wildcats in Greenwood County and stays athletically active throughout the school year given she also plays volleyball and softball during her time at Ninety Six. Squire stands at 5-foot-7 and is a marquee player to watch given she averaged a double-double in 2021-22 with 12.5 points and 15.2 rebounds. Squire happened to lead the way for the Wildcats to a second-round berth in the Class AA tournament. Ninety Six will return back to Region 2-AA after a couple seasons in Region 1-AA. Her freshman campaign with her first with the Wildcats and it had “just getting started” written all over it.

Squire will have plenty of time to take her already complete game even higher in the coming seasons. Potentially underrated given she plays off the grid with the Class 2A Wildcats, she also competes in volleyball and softball events at Ninety Six. She may be a 5-foot-7 small forward but her impact near the rim is anything but small as she averaged a double-double of 12.5 points and 15.2 rebounds in 2021-22 for the Wildcats. Squire played in 20 of the 21 games Ninety Six participated in last season and saw the team advance to the second round of the Class AA tournament.
