Janiyah is an athletic guard I was excited to see for the first time in person at the P2W Headliners Invitational Showcase. She showed her next-level potential and had a solid day for Team Fever. Janiyah kept her eyes up in transition, pushed the ball up the court with both hands, and buried a smooth pull-up jumper from the wing. She weaved through defenders off the dribble to get to the rim and chased down offensive rebounds. Janiyah wasn’t afraid to shoot, and her ability to score at all three levels kept defenders on their heels.

Janiyah is having a great career at Center Line, averaging 17.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per game this season. She has length, athleticism, and can score inside or outside. Janiyah generates steals and blocks shots on the defensive end. She won Detroit Free Press/Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week and is a prospect who I believe will greatly benefit from this event. Janiyah could be a breakout performer at the Headliners Invitational Showcase on Sunday, and I’m very excited to see her compete.

Janiyah was great in multiple statistical categories last week, as she has been all season for Center Line. Janiyah posted 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks against Sterling Heights. She followed that up with a monstrous triple-double: 16 points, 15 rebounds, 10 blocks, 8 steals, and 4 assists against Lamphere. Janiyah set a new career high this season with 28 points against Warren Mott.

Janiyah is an athletic guard for Center Line who immediately became an impact player as a freshman, earning All-Conference Honors last season. She chases the ball on defense, closes out quickly, and elevates to block shots. Janiyah puts her foot down to accelerate for layups off the dribble and comfortably knocks down 3s from the perimeter with a smooth follow-through. Janiyah will be an exciting prospect to watch during her sophomore season.
