An one woman demolition crew, who is mauling opponents for the 7-0 and 17th ranked Class 2A Black Bears of Pawnee. Simply too fast, too strong and too quick for the small town ranks. Around the rim, she makes decisive and powerful moves with outstanding agility for her build. Steps out and smoothly drains threes as well. Garcia-Howell is betting on herself by heading to JuCo, and it’s very possible with her combo of skill and athletic ability that she ends up at D1 or a premier D2 program. Averaging 21.8 points per game, with 12 rebounds on 53% FG and 34% 3 shooting splits.

As mentioned in previous article I believe she has shown the most growth over the past few months. The versatility and size make her a prospect heading into the next Live Percoid. She dominated the block in the 1 on 1 drills. The low post player showed that she can score effectively going over either shoulder. Good hands and athletic ability made it hard to just front the post. The ability to hold off the defender allowed the passer to throw over the front side defense. She brings an interesting package as she can knock down the 3 including making one on top the ball screen. Handles the ball well and has good vision to start her own break off the defensive rebound
A solid performance the upcoming live period could make a big impact on her recruiting process. The 2026 already has several D2 offers.

A player that over just the past two weekends has been impressing college coaches. I had the opportunity to watch her play the weekend before at the I-35 Summer Showcase. During the low post station, she did an amazing job on moving her feet in the circle not allowing the defense to slide around her. Great hands on the grab adjusting her positioning to get the pass. Good body control in the pos using strong legs using the bumps to her advantage. She put in work on the left block as if she was a natural left hand. She’s NOT just adjusting as she mentioned high school point guard is a lefty. The impressive thing of the day was the 3-point jumper off a ball screen. It looked smooth as if she could play the 3 guard. Jaslene has received offers from NSU, RSU, OC and as I am working on this article picked up an offer from Ark Tech.

One of the most efficient performers in Oklahoma is continuing to grind out steady, winning production. Seemingly automatic around the rim. While also stepping out to hit in the mid-range or from three. Has speed and mobility to go with her soft touch and power. The speed is on display with the workout she gives opposing bigs by sprinting the floor hard for transition points. Defensively, she can step out and trap or even block guard’s shots. While also being a powerful enforcer against opposing bigs. Complete performance for a 4-0 squad from one of Oklahoma’s top available forward prospects.

The skilled forward from Northern Oklahoma has enjoyed an impressive summer, and she still could be a bit under valued. There’s the obvious aspects to her game, with strength, power and quickness. Those traits allow her to score on the block, corral rebounds and run the floor. But she’s more than just playing with her hardhat on. Her skills as a stretch forward, who can hit jumpers, make passes and take opposing bigs off the dribble make her a very interesting prospect. Garcia-Howell is more proof of the top tier talent all over Oklahoma and that small town production can translate.

The Pawnee Lady Black Bear was a mauler for her high school program this past season. And is now a focal point for JYD this spring. She beats opponents up on the glass, with her height, strength and good quickness for her size. But she’s not just a hard hat wearing player around the rim. She can also stretch the floor from three. Or attack as a driver, who plays at her own pace. With sneaky good passing vision. It’s not a matter of if more college opportunities come, it’s a matter of when.

A physical force around the basket, Garcia-Howell is sure to give teams in northern Oklahoma fits all winter long while in search of a trip to the 405. Summer highlights indicate that she has strong defensive instincts and feel, capable of swatting shots or playing smart crafty defense on post ups. Good finisher at the rim. Toughness with multi-sport background (softball) is evident. Enjoyed a strong summer, earning offers from in state Rogers State, Northeastern State and Oklahoma Christian. Will be looking to take Pawnee a step further than Area.

Jalene Garcia-Howell knows how to utilize her size to grab rebounds. I was able to watch her in one game, in which she dominated the glass. She had close to ten rebounds and scored a couple of times in the paint. There was one time that she had a good cut that resulted in her finishing at the rim. A really good rebounder and decent finisher around the rim is what you get with her.
