Even though the Red Foxes suffered a tough 56-54 defeat to SCISA 4A Northwood Academy to conclude Saturday’s action at the Lexington Christmas Classic, Frierson’s 17 points kept Hartsville in the matchup from start to finish. Frierson is a two-sport athlete who also plays varsity soccer to go alongside what she does on the basketball court. The lockdown defense she can play on an opposing ball carrier can lead to Frierson blocking said adversary’s shot. Offensively, she is difficult to contain, particularly when attacking the rim. She took to the court in 27 games last season for a Hartsville team that finished with a 19-8 record last season. Frierson averaged a very robust 20.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and three steals per contest. She also achieved a lofty milestone during the 2022-23 campaign as she crossed the 1,000-point threshold for her career. Frierson is listed at 5-foot-6 and thrives as a combo guard.

Frierson is beginning her senior for the Lady Red Foxes this fall for Head Coach Justin Johnson. Jasmine was able to use a nice pull-up jumper here in transition today. She really has a quick set of hands to generate steals up the floor the other way.
Jasmine will touch the paint on a regular basis with her play. Frierson joined the 1,000 point career club last season. Frierson a scoring guard will drop the floater in the lane when given the chance.

Frierson has the Lady Red Foxes playing well. Hartsville HS looks to be a #3 seed headed into the playoffs next week. Frierson is averaging 19.3 ppg and 3.6 assists this season. Jasmine is the catalyst to get things going for Head Coach Justin Johnson. She can get the ball to the cup and really makes things work when she can get to the foul line. Several games this season she has attempted more than 10 free throws in a game. Frierson made the move up to #8 sliding up a few spots with her play in region play for the Lady Red Foxes.
