Jasmine is another player who I thought took their game to another level this weekends from watching and doing evaluations of her before. Jasmine is a very talented player who has a unique set of skills offensively that can cause major problems for opposing teams which was on full display at Peach Games. She was excellent creating turnovers on defense and then turning them into instant offense for her team by scoring on the break. Jasmine has one of the best midrange pull up games in the state and she hit multiple shots from 8-12 feet from spots all over the court. She is a physically strong kid, who does not shy away from contact and actually was power through it and finish on the break. Defensively she was very good applying pressure on the ball as well as coming from the backside and trapping unsuspecting ball handlers. James has the size to go along with her strength to be a very good rebounding guard as well. With continued play at the level I saw over the weekend, James should return from the Adidas 3SSB circuit with a handful of offers going into her final season as a senior next school year.

James is a very skilled offensive player with a lot of versatility. She played with controlled aggression getting to the rim and into the paint against a physical South Shore team. James was not afraid of contact and continued attacking the basket all game long. James has very nice form on her shot and can hurt opposing teams from beyond the three point line. She also did a nice job getting to the elbow and midrange for her shot. She rebounded the ball well for her size and did a nice job applying pressure on the ball on defense.

What sets Jasmine apart as a shooter isn’t just her form or range — it’s her confidence. Every time she releases the ball, she shoots it like it’s going in — and more often than not, it does. That self-belief gives her rhythm, flow, and presence on the floor that energizes her team and keeps defenders on high alert. Jasmine has that rare, intangible shooter’s mentality — fearless, consistent, and always ready for the moment.

Jasmine’s playmaking is fueled by her sharp decision-making and the threat of her scoring. She’s smart with the ball, rarely turning it over, and always looking for the best option on the floor. Her shooting ability demands constant attention from defenders, often drawing double teams or pulling help defense her way. This creates openings for her teammates, and Jasmine has the awareness to take advantage—finding cutters, hitting open shooters, and keeping the defense on its heels. Her blend of scoring and unselfish play makes her a dynamic and valuable playmaker.

When Jasmine stepped back behind the arc, there was an undeniable swagger in her step. It wasn’t just about making the shot; it was about making a statement. Her eyes would scan the court, almost daring the defense to leave her open. Her movements were sharp and decisive, creating space with subtle shifts and quick pivots. The release was lightning-fast, the ball leaving her fingertips with a confident spin. And when it dropped, there was often a little pump of her fist or a quick, knowing glance at the bench. Her threes weren’t just points on the board; they were momentum shifts, daggers that could deflate the opposing team’s spirit. She played with a visible intensity, a fire that fueled her accuracy and made every successful shot feel like a declaration. At the Roll Tide Rumble, Jasmine Jones wasn’t just hitting threes; she was commanding the court with them.

We shift our attention from the northern Atlanta suburbs to the northwest Atlanta suburbs. She also ensured Team Elite Hubbard 16U 3SSB would run the table in its four games at the Roll Tide Rumble. Her team began the weekend with a dominant 66-12 victory over SC Eagles UA Rise 16U and did not look back since. The standout from 6A Wheeler added 12 points in that victory. Among the many areas where she excels on the court is her willingness to not give up on plays. James can give a team productive minutes as either a one or a two guard. All of her team’s victories this past weekend were by double digits and their smallest margin of victory was 28 points.

James is the other representative from 6A Wheeler on Team Elite Hubbard 16U 3SSB. The Wildcats connection had a great start to this past weekend’s Roll Tide Rumble. Listed at 5-foot-8, she spearheaded what was an offensive onslaught for her team that its early adversary in SC Eagles UA Rise 16U had no answers for. This included what James was able to get accomplished from close range to the basket. James is a combo guard that can give a team productive minutes as either a one or a two. Getting out in transition, connecting on 3-pointers and collecting steals are among the many strong elements to her game.

Natural facilitator that looks to attack the gaps and kick out. Spreads the team out in the half court setting and knows when to push or settle in transition.

The 2027, Wheeler HS guard blew up as a freshman. She made all region while averaging 19 points per game. She’s one of the best ’27 scorers in the state, and I’ve been able to watch her live a few times. Knows how to get to her spots. Great change in speeds and directions gives her a tough midrange package she knows how to get to. Nice float game. Can finish on both feet, or one….and with either hand.
