When Woodruff’s season concluded at the hands of St. Joseph’s Catholic in the 3A Upper State semifinals, a popular question around town was where Turner would decide to play her collegiate ball. A few days following that postseason contest, Turner announced that she would be bringing her hoops talents to Southern Wesleyan University. She has played both volleyball and basketball throughout her high school career. Among the highlights of Turner’s 2025-26 season include setting a single-season school record for steals, becoming Woodruff record holder in assists and steals and playing games on the Wolverines’ new court at the new Woodruff HS built down Cross Anchor Road from the existing building. Turner averaged 14.1 points, 5.9 steals, 5.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists this past season.

We begin with a milestone that actually was reached not in January, but in mid-December. Turner is in the final season of her high school career with 3A Woodruff. On Dec. 19, Woodruff reached the 1,000-point plateau in a matchup that pitted her Wolverines against the Eagles of 2A Chesnee. The Wolverines picked up the 45-21 victory at the Eagles’ nest. As of this writing, the Wolverines are currently tied for second place (with Broome) in Region 3-AAA. Turner, who first played at the varsity level as a seventh grader, has averaged 13 points, 6.4 steals, 5.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists this season. She recently landed an offer from Columbia International – where her former Woodruff teammate Sadie Burnette is currently playing at in the collegiate ranks.

One would expect on the first day of an early-season tournament hosted by a school that said school’s team will defend its home court. Turner ensured her Wolverines did so as 3A Woodruff closed out Saturday with a dominant victory over 2A Brashier Middle College. She concluded the contest with 20 points in the victory. Turner displayed her speed, quickness and fearlessness when attacking the rim and did not shy away from contact that could place her at the free throw line. Defensively, she keeps her hands outstretched as well as above her head to negatively affect the trajectory of an opponent’s shot.

SC Lady Sixers products have been doing very well on the Palmetto State recruiting trail lately. Turner recently took an unofficial visit to Montreat and secured an offer from the Asheville-area program. Turner has been one of the mainstays of the program at 3A Woodruff as she has competed at the varsity level since she was in the seventh grade. This past season, Turner competed in all 27 games for the Wolverines. She was a reason why Woodruff was one of the teams to beat among the 3A field last season. Her 12 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.6 steals contributed to the Wolverines’ 21-6 season and 8-2 region mark. Turner is a two-sport athlete who also plays volleyball.

Turner is a TOUGH kid who seems to have no quit in her game for the Upward Stars Upstate 2025 squad. Jensyn has a nose for the ball and always seems to be around it to make a play. She won’t hesitate to jump on the floor for a loose ball or look to attack the basket while absorbing some contact on the way.
Turner and Wallace give this Upward Stars Upstate program a nice duo in the backcourt for Head Coach Devario Burnside. Oh yeah both of Turner and Wallace are playing up an age group.

The lion’s share of the Upward Stars Upstate 2025 roster is comprised of noteworthy players from either 3A Woodruff or 5A Dorman. Turner is one of those Woodruff standouts and she had herself a noteworthy performance on Saturday against Carolina All-Stars when she placed nine points on the board. She is a multi-sport athlete who also participates in volleyball outside of her basketball pursuits. Turner’s improvement as a rebounder can be seen any time she steps on the court along with her knack for attacking the basket. Ball distribution, collecting steals and getting to the free throw line are other strong aspects of her game.
