Jessi has a unique, unorthodox game that makes her tough to defend, and her relentless motor allows her to impact the game in a variety of ways. She consistently got downhill to draw fouls, used step-throughs and Euro steps to create scoring opportunities, and ran the floor for easy points in transition. Her ability to elevate and finish through traffic made her shots difficult to contest, and she converted a timely and-one opportunity for momentum. Jessi also made her presence felt defensively with active hands and deflections while attacking the offensive glass. She simply doesn’t stop competing and finds ways to make plays.

With Sunlake facing Charlotte and a region finals spot within reach, sophomore Jessi has the tools to be the spark that pushes her team through. Surrounded by many upperclassmen, she doesn’t need to dominate the ball, but her ability to score efficiently when attacking the rim can relieve pressure and balance the offense. Her athleticism and slashing ability allow her to collapse defenses, and when she rebounds and immediately turns stops into transition opportunities, she changes the pace of the game. Using her length and speed to disrupt defensively and convert those moments into quick points could be the momentum swing Sunlake needs. If she stays aggressive, finishes through contact, and consistently impacts both ends of the floor, Jessi can be the underclassman difference maker that puts Sunlake into the next round.
