Expert Analysis

Basketball IQ runs in the Carpenter family. It is clear that Jordyn was taught a lot of situational basketball while growing up which has translated to stellar play as a high schooler. Porter appreciates Jordyn’s ability to utilize her athletic ability on both sides of the floor. She is an excellent defender, moves well on air-time, and is scrappy with her active hands. She is another player on this team that can create her own scoring opportunities off of the bounce but also finds her teammates for clean looks. Carpenter has a very nice looking shot and is a threat the second she steps on the floor.

Carpenter led Mayport in nearly every statistical category you could think of. She is one of the better players in all of Class A. She is an All-Region returning guard who brings a lot to the table. She moves well on the court and glides to the basket. Her basketball IQ is really impressive. She doesn’t make a lot of mental mistakes and is able to move on to the next play when they do occur. She is widely known as an excellent outside shooter. Her length, IQ, athletic ability, and shooting ability make her an fascinating 2027 prospect.

Carpenter has been on a tear this season. She is scoring at a higher clip than last season which shows her growth as a player. She does a lot of things really well. I like her ability to score and her ability to defend. She isn’t going to back down from anyone and competes like crazy. She is a great college prospect and an excellent shooter.

Jordyn just received her first basketball offer to play at University of Minnesota-Crookston, a member of the highly competitive D2 Northern Sun Conference. She plays with a cool, calm, collectiveness on the floor. This shows me that she is a natural born leader and that quality is something colleges love in their recruits.

The daughter of Mayville State’s coach Ryan Carpenter had a terrific season. Jordyn played up one level on Sanford’s top 17 team and fit right in with the older girls. She has a great feel for the game, something coach’s kids usually have. Jordyn is a quality prospect and a high level guard who can play at the next level. Her shooting ability from behind the arc is impressive and I always appreciate how hard she competes.

Jordyn is one of the best guards in this class. She plays with great patience and pace on the court. She is a great ball-handler and can play the 1 but is also great off of the ball. She is a sweet outside shooter and deadly from way beyond the arc. I like her vision with the ball in transition and how hard she plays. She needs to continue to work on getting stronger as she sometimes struggles against bigger girls. If she can get in the weight room, she will be a highly sought after prospect.

Jordyn is playing up on the top 17U team for Sanford Fargo and fits in nicely. You can tell she is a year younger than everyone by her looks, but she doesn’t play like it. She gets downhill against bigger opponents and is able to handle tough defensive pressure. She has great vision in transition and makes the right read. She is longer than what she looks like on film. Jordyn is a quality college prospect.

Jordyn is an incredible talent and does a lot of really impressive things as a sophomore. She is absolutely deadly from behind the arc. She has had teams face-guard her this season, a testament to how good she is offensively. She also shines doing the little things. She is an excellent screener. She is an aggressive defender. And she does a very nice job hustling on the floor, diving for loose balls.

Jordyn is a special talent for Mayport and helping them to the top ten of the latest Class B polls. She is a very talented guard who is lighting it up from all over the floor. She is currently averaging 17 points per game, 6 rebounds, and shooting 35% from behind the arc. Her shooting ability for a sophomore is really impressive. She is definitely going to be an All-Region selection and will compete for a spot on the All-State team going forward. She is a fun prospect to keep an eye on going forward.
