Jovi showed a nice presence around the basket while competing with Team Liberty during the middle school session at the Headliners Invitational. She was active on the glass throughout the event, coming away with multiple rebounds on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. I liked her willingness to work for position and stay involved in possessions, giving her team opportunities to secure the basketball. Jovi also demonstrated good movement without the ball, finding ways to get herself into position to receive a pass. One play that caught my attention came when she did a nice job sealing her defender and making a strong catch in traffic. That ability to establish position and secure the basketball with defenders around her is an important skill for a young player. Her rebounding effort, awareness away from the ball and ability to work inside were encouraging parts of her performance for Team Liberty.
