Sams was one of the best players on my side of the court during five on five, not only competing against, but standing out against kids 2-3 years older than her. Her size and length certainly helped as she cut and sliced her way to the rim repeatedly finishing with an impressive package using her dominant left hand. Defenders were nearly helpless as Sams put together inside out and hesitation moves, shot and jab fakes that you would expect from someone much older. I was curious about her jump shot (she did not need to use it all day) until she ended five versus five play by pulling up and knocking down a three in transition off the dribble. She will be ranked high in the 2030 class when the new update is released.

Sams is a long, wiry playmaker with intriguing two-way upside. The lefty excels attacking downhill, creating for teammates and using her length to finish around the basket. She covers ground defensively, has a knack for filling up the stat sheet and projects as a disruptive perimeter defender as she continues to develop. Sams possesses the tools and motor to become a high-impact guard at both ends.

Sams is a player that is all over the floor. She rebounds well and pushes the ball well in transition. Her length creates problems for teams as she has the size to play the guard and small forward position. Active on both ends of the floor and the energizer for her team. Runs the floor in transition which allows her to get in position to score at the rim.

The Wood Elite program is known for bringing in top-tier names from across Georgia. Sams appears to be one of those names. Her team may have been on the wrong end of a 76-70 decision to Winners United 15U EYCL but her consistent playmaking kept her eighth-grade assembling in the contest. At 5-foot-9, she is taller than many of her peer point guards and she compliments that height with plenty of length. Handling the ball with either hand and finishing with either hand also add to what she can get accomplished. Sams is a multi-talented 2030 who is sure to be mentioned a lot in the coming seasons.
