Poindexter is a rising senior who has played her travel ball with Team Accelerate 17U. She would compete in 21 games last season for 4A York and averaged 8.8 points and 1.3 steals per contest. Poindexter is poised to put an exclamation point on her high school career in 2026-27 and one way she can do this is with her on-court leadership skills. She understands the importance of keeping her hands outstretched on defense to clog up an opposing team’s passing lanes. Poindexter also does not shy away from contact that can place her at the free throw line. During May’s live period, she participated in the Live at LakePoint event in Georgia. 

Kaelyn is wearing a new uniform this season in the Upstate. She joined the Lady Cougars after playing at Clover HS last season. Poindexter does a nice job of switching hands on drives to the bucket. She has the ability to create her own shot while using a nice crossover dribble to get by defenders.

Kaelyn runs on the Grassroots Circuit with Team United. She will be counted on heavily this season to carry the Lady Cougars. Kaelyn made the move from #48 to #35 this time around.

Poindexter is a new transfer this coming fall at York Comprehensive HS. She currently played at Clover HS. Kaelyn was able to showcase some nifty ball-handling skills here today. She was able to use the crossover dribble and drive to the rack for an easy bucket at times. Kaelyn did a nice job of switching hands and scoring at the bucket from either side. She certainly is a solid scoring threat from behind the 3-point line for the Lady Cougars. Look for her to have a big season in a Lady Cougars uniform.

Kaelyn Poindexter has deep three-point range. She has a picture-perfect outside shot that goes in with consistency. She can also attack the rim and score with her left or right hand. If a defender takes away her three, she can knock down the midrange pull-up. Poindexter is an elite talent that can change a game with her scoring or her passing ability. She also has exceptional court vision.
