Maldonado battled all night. She finished with 16 points and five rebounds while going 5 for 11 from the field. She was one of the few consistent scoring threats for Chiawana. She attacked off the bounce and got to the free throw line. In the fourth quarter, she helped spark the late push that made the final margin respectable.

Maldonado has a chance to be a really special player, and it’s pretty evident with her play this season. She’s helped Chiawana to a 21-0 regular season with just one game left before the playoffs. She’s third in scoring in the MCC at 16.5 PPG, and has been effective all over the floor with about seven rebounds per game, just under four assists, and 2.5 steals per contest. She has a smooth shot from outside (47.5%), and already displays a keen understanding of playing with pace and space.
