The NJIT commit hasn’t slowed down this season one bit. Donovan is a tough nosed guard who plays with her eyes up and her head on a swivel. She’s an aggressive scorer, but an even better playmaker. At the next level, she’ll be able to play the 1 and the 2. She can guard both positions, and score with or without the ball. An all-state type off talent.

What Donovan brings to a program doesn’t always show up in the stat sheet, but when it does, you can see just how much impact she brings to her team, regardless of the size. She’s a kid who doesn’t lose energy. She plays hard from tip off to the final buzzer. Hersey will rely a lot on Donovan once the season kicks off, and she’s more than proven over the past couple of years that she’s up for the challenge.

No matter the division Donovan gets to play in, I believe he’ll bring a ton of heart and aggression to that system. She’s a for sure standout when she plays, and can be impactful on both sides of the ball… consistently. Looking forward to seeing how she plays with her new team in the second half of the AAU season.

Whether it is a mid or low major Division 1 or a high level Division 2, Donovan will garner a ton of attention this weekend. Look past her size and you will find a kid with a ton of go and an absolute nonstop motor. She hangs her hat on the defensive side of the ball and has no fear when guarding the opponent’s best player. Her being a standout on the LAX field is just another testament to her ability to play through contact and against it. Tough kid with strong potential.

Donovan on the defensive side of the ball is what many programs are looking for. She plays the game with great instincts and has the foot speed to match it. Offensively, she knows what angles to hit to get to the rim, and has no issue making the extra pass.

Every top team on a program needs at least one player who wants to impact the game every where else besides the scoring column. Donovan does just that. Defensively, her speed, focus and awareness allows her to be a pest in the back court. She has a knack of finding ways to get clean strips of the ball. High IQ matched with energy and a toughness that most guards shy away from tapping into.

Hersey lost almost their entire starting lineup in the graduating 2023 class. The only freshman from last year’s team, Donovan, shows why it is important to bring underclassmen up for experience. She plays as though she has been in this position before although she had minimal court time last year. The point guard is cool, poised and is a great communicator.

Donovan is a perfect piece to build around for a rebuilding program. She plays the game with an edge, but remains in control for majority of the possessions. Cracking the top 75, in a class full of guards with tremendous talent.. Donovan sticks out just about wherever she plays. Her IQ is always the first thing noticed, and her ability to play the game with poise is the main thing that intrigues me. She plays the game far more mature than her age, and she can run the offense with just about any type of player. As the skills start become fine tuned, and she starts to grow.. Kate will start to see her name next to top talent in the state.
