During the middle of the match, Katelyn was having some trouble handling the ball; her coach called her team in for a huddle, after which Katelyn signaled to the coach that she understood. After that, her ball handling immediately improved, and she handled the ball with ease for the rest of the match.

There were several points in the match where she made crisp and laser-precise passes, but there was one pass that really stood out. Towards the end of the match, Katelyn was in a tight spot; she was in possession, and her opponents were closing in on her. She had to make a pass, but to which of her teammates? She had one to her left and one to her right; Katelyn had a choice to make. She chose her teammate to her right. Katelyn made a swift and precise pass; her teammate caught it, shot it, and scored.

Katelyn Carlton is a powerhouse of a player whose talent, leadership, and determination consistently elevated the performance of her whole team. Her outstanding speed and agility allowed her to fly across the court, creating several opportunities and keeping momentum high during every phase of the game. Katelyn maintains exceptional court awareness and intense knowledge of the sport, enabling her to anticipate the plays before they even occur and make fast and specific passes that would lead directly to scoring opportunities for her team. At one point in the match, between her team and the Oklahoma Royal Legacy team, she made a quick decision to pass the ball to one of her teammates that lead directly to her team making a basket. Her ability to execute plays flawlessly showcases not only her technical skill but also her in depth understanding of the sport and commitment to the success of her team.

Beyond her athletic talents, Katelyn exemplifies the qualities of a fantastic teammate and role model. She routinely communicated expertly with both her coach and her teammates, fostering feelings of trust, unity, and collaboration both on and off the court. Katelyn’s respect for the sport is clear in the way she actively paid close attention to the refs when they made calls, and in the way she carried herself with maturity and confidence. Having both outstanding stamina and endurance, Katelyn maintains a professional level of intensity and focus from the opening tip-off to the final buzzer. She evidently arrived prepared, ready to bring her all, and willing to put in the work required to help her team succeed. Through her wisdom, hard work, leadership, and steadfast dedication, Katelyn has established herself as an incredibly invaluable asset to her team, and has shown herself to be an exemplary athlete.

Carlton uses her body well to create contact and draw fouls when attacking inside. Not afraid to battle with the bigs, she crashes the glass aggressively and often comes away with the board. Her toughness and physicality give her team a reliable presence in the paint.
