Witt had an impressive summer with her athleticism, pace, and feel for the game, creating scoring opportunities both in the half court and in transition. She attacked the basket, using crafty ball handling, shot fakes, spin moves, and strength through contact to finish at the rim while also knocking down threes and delivering clutch passes. Her high activity stood out on defense as well, where her quick hands, hustle, and anticipation led to steals and transition opportunities.

Witt impacts the game in ways that go well beyond scoring, using her court vision, composure, and IQ to keep her team organized offensively. She handles defensive pressure with strength, attacks gaps with purpose to create opportunities for teammates, and makes smart reads, whether finding a cutter, a post player, or an open shooter. She also competes nonstop on the defensive end, applying pressure on the ball and making plays through her effort and all-around skill set.

Witt is a versatile, high-IQ guard who combines size and athleticism with an advanced understanding of how to create offense. She attacks downhill with strength, protects the ball well, and uses crafty moves, strong footwork, and quick decision-making to split defenders, create space, and finish efficiently at the basket or pull up for jumpers. She can read defenses, play multiple positions, and impact the game on both ends of the floor.

Witt consistently played with speed and aggression. The quick, athletic guard defended multiple positions effectively and made life difficult for opposing ball handlers. Offensively, she excelled at pushing the tempo and attacking the basket, getting downhill with ease and finishing plays in traffic. Her energy and ability to impact both ends of the floor made her one of the more noticeable guards at the event.

Katelynn is a strong, physical guard who thrives at the rim, using her balance and body control to finish through contact. She’s comfortable pushing the ball in transition and does a great job advancing it ahead with smart passes to open teammates. Even when met by multiple defenders, she stays composed and finishes strong. With her strength and control, defenders have a tough time disrupting her handle.

Good size at 5’10 and it looks like she can play all over the court! Katelynn played the wing and kind of a hybrid point guard as well. Good IQ and athleticism she’s able to take a vantage of mismatches from the top of the key. She has tremendous upside and her game is still growing last year of AAU this season. Runner up for player of the year and was able to make first team all state team!

Katelynn delivered a dominant performance in the state championship game with 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists, while going 13-for-16 from the free throw line, earning 1st Team All-State 2A honors. She plays with pace and purpose, making quick, decisive reads with the ball. Whether attacking downhill in an instant or drawing contact to get to the line, she consistently puts pressure on the defense.

Witt established herself as one of the most dynamic scorers in Class 2, serving as the engine behind Union’s offense throughout the season. She delivered a historic performance in the state semifinals with 38 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals, becoming the program’s all-time leading scorer in the process. Witt entered the state final on an incredible scoring run, consistently producing high-level performances and showcasing her ability to score at all three levels. Her speed, ball handling, and downhill aggression allow her to put constant pressure on opposing defenses, while also creating opportunities for teammates. Even in the state title game, her presence and playmaking were central to Union’s offense, highlighting her impact as a competitor and leader.

Whit was downhill and determined from the opening tip — playing smart, physical, and with a clear purpose every time she touched the floor. She came out with a statement-making mentality on both ends, and she delivered. Handling the opposing team’s pressure with poise and finding ways to push through it, she never let the defense dictate her game. And when the outside shot wasn’t falling, she never wavered — staying locked into the game plan, trusting her coaches, and leaning on her teammates. 

It felt like on every Union possession, Katelyn Witt was attempting to get to the rim and put pressure on Clare County’s defense. Katelyn’s mix of speed and ball handling allowed her to get to the paint, and even though you wish she had a little more discretion when it came to putting shots up at the rim, that directness was Union’s only real source of offense. She had a handful of great passes when going downhill, and in a game Union was being picked to lose, their surprise first-half lead had to mainly be attributed to her.
