A solid PF prospect who played with a high motor on Saturday. Kaylyn could be seen several times grabbing a rebound and pushing the pace before finishing on the other end. She is quick and active around the glass and showed poise in her shot selection. Kaylyn was able to use a variety of post moves and pump fakes while playing off of two feet around the rim. She also showcased a soft touch from the free throw line and great ball instincts on the defensive end.

Hollenbeck will be one of the three Bruins that will represent 4A Lancaster at this weekend’s SCBCA Elite Camp. Hollenbeck previously played her middle school ball at South MS and competed in 24 games last season in Lancaster’s gold and navy blue hues. She averaged 10.3 points, a team-leading 7.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. Hollenbeck was also second on the team in blocks and was one of five 2028s on last season’s Bruins team. She has already been athletically active throughout the fall semester as she also plays volleyball in addition to what she gets accomplished on the basketball court.

Hollenbeck showed a controlled mean streak as she embraced the physical game from start to finish. Despite giving up size, she battled bigger players without hesitation. Additionally, her strength consistently showed around the basket.

Offensively, Hollenbeck finished through contact with a soft touch. Meanwhile, her athleticism helped create quality scoring opportunities. Defensively, she rebounded well and held her own in the post. Consequently, Hollenback established herself as a 2028 prospect to watch in South Carolina and beyond.

The late morning matchup of the day featured Hollenbeck’s 4A Lancaster team squaring off against 2A Kingstree. An entertaining, defensive-centric contest went in the direction of the Blazers, but Hollenbeck’s 11 points ensured the Bruins had a chance to win from start to finish. As a frontcourt force, Hollenbeck’s bread and butter is what she is able to get accomplished in the interior as a scorer and as a rebounder. She did display her offensive versatility as she connected on one of the two 3-pointers Lancaster had on Saturday morning. Six of Hollenbeck’s 11 points were placed on the scoreboard in the first half.
