About Kennedi

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a point guard, I directed our offense, setting up plays, and facilitating ball movement. With strong court vision and passing skills, I make critical decisions under pressure while controlling the game's pace. Effective communication ensures our efficiency, and my secure ball-handling adds reliability.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm driven, energetic, and focused on achieving my goals both on and off the court. I embrace challenges, constantly striving to improve my skills through hard work and dedication. I believe in self-reflection to enhance my performance and stay engaged. Social and confident, I enjoy fostering community and teamwork with my outgoing nature, positively influencing those around me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was awarded the Buffett scholarship award, which follows/supports me throughout high school and college. I was awarded a Links award. I am involved in the BSU club at my school and I am my grade level school student ambassador. I also volunteer for youth basketball clinic under the Spartan program.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a student and varsity point guard, I’ve developed leadership, communication, and teamwork skills by guiding on and off the court. Volunteering with youth basketball has taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of giving back. As a student ambassador, I’ve grown more confident in new situations and in representing my school. These experiences have shaped me into a stronger leader.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Balancing academics, basketball, and volunteer work has been a significant challenge. Managing my time and energy hasn’t always been easy, especially during busy seasons. However, it taught me discipline, perseverance, and how to stay focused under pressure, skills that have helped me grow both personally and academically.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that values both academics and athletics, where I can grow as a student and athlete. I want a supportive community, strong academic programs, and opportunities for leadership and service. A school with a competitive basketball program and a focus on personal development is ideal.

Hardnen has always been among the most skilled ball handlers in the state, and she thrived in the skills portion of the camp. Everything came naturally to her, and even though you could tell she was attacking every rep, she was so skilled that it still looked easy to her. I thought she had an excellent day in Mequon and was one of the players comfortable talking on the floor in the 5v5 portion and organizing her team whenever needed. She’s also a kid other players enjoy playing with, which speaks to her character on and off the floor.

I caught some of Dynatsy’s last game on Saturday at the Cheesehead Challenge in New Berlin. However, Harden is someone I still would like to see more from. The talent with the ball in her hands is evident, but I’m eager to see how she’s grown as an off-ball player. She’s so dynamic and quick, which makes me believe she could develop into an excellent cutter and one of the better pass jumpers in the Madison area. That said, watching her get into some dribble-drive is worth watching.

Having guards who can work off the dribble and create something out of nothing is a prerequisite for playing high-level basketball at the next level, and Harden can do that. She proved she could be a trustworthy guard against kids older than her, and she had a solid postseason run, as Vel Phillips Memorial fell just short against then-undefeated Oregon on the road. The most important thing for her will be learning to excel away from the ball on both ends the way she excels with the ball or guarding the ball on both ends of the floor.
