Kesiah showed that she can do it all Wednesday night. She went from scoring on an up and under move in the first half, to stepping out and hitting a pull up three a few possessions later. Throughout the contest she continued to be physical on the glass, and when attacking the basket. Her motor really wore down the interior players for the opposing team as the night went on. Kesiah finished with a double double in a winning effort for Brynes.

The Rebels of 5A Byrnes garner headlines for their backcourt play, but one cannot ignore how the team’s frontcourt has made it among one of the toughest outs in the Palmetto State. Salmon will be one of two Rebels that will be present at this weekend’s camp in North Charleston. She was third among Rebels in rebounding last season as she brought down 6.3 boards per game in addition to the eight points that she tallied per contest. Salmon spent her spring and summer of travel basketball running with Better Built Basketball. She was one of five from the class of 2028 on last season’s Rebels team.

A talented PF/C for Brynes, Kesiah is just now starting to blossom. She is physical and shows good hands and footwork for her squad. On her way to double digit scoring tonight Kesiah was able to find space operating in the high post and the dunker spot on the floor. She has a nice touch on her 15′ jumpshot and was vocal throughout.

The Rebels of 5A Byrnes garner plenty of headlines for its backcourt strength, but any coach will mention how championship teams have playmakers both in the open floor and in the low post. Salmon played up in class throughout the spring and summer with BBB Elite 17U. She was part of a Rebels team that finished 24-4 throughout the 2025-26 season. Salmon played in 27 of Byrnes’ 28 games last season while averaging eight points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Expect for Salmon to be more of a featured big for the Rebels these next pair of seasons considering two of the team’s previous bigs graduated from Byrnes last season.

I had not seen Salmon play in person before, but after doing so and seeing her number two ranking for centers/power forwards on Prep Girls Hoops I am not surprised. Salmon looks like a college player physically now with good height and length to go along with broad shoulders and strength operating in the paint. Keisha scored from both blocks, facing up to the basket and with her back to it. She did a great job using the backboard on her finishes from six feet in, something I do not see enough of anymore. When she received the ball in the post, Salmon did not hesitate wasting little time and getting straight to work. She did not pound the ball unnecessarily, but rather took one or two dribbles, if any, before elevating off the ground and putting the ball in the basket. Salmon was good rebounding the basketball on both ends and defended her position well. Her ability to score the basketball at her size with such efficiency make her a good prospect to play on the next level in college.
