Though they were unable to defend their Group 3 State Championship last season, Kirsten led Cherry Hill West HS to a 21-7 record, the Camden County Tournament semifinals and the South Group 3 Sectional finals. The NJIT commit led her team in points, 3-pointers, rebounds and steals. She finished her junior season 7th in NJ and 1st in Group 3 in total points (623), 6th in NJ and 1st in Group 3 in PPG (23.1), tied for 26th in Group 3 in APG (2.9), tied for 32nd in Group 3 in SPG (3.1) and tied for 27th in Group 3 in 3-pointers per game (1.7). If she matches last season’s offensive output, Kirsten will eclipse 2,000 career points and 200 career 3-pointers in her senior season.

Kirsten put together a huge season, scoring 623 points and averaging 23 per game. She has a smooth step-back move that creates space at the three-point line and needs very little room to get her shot off. She shoots with confidence even under pressure, and if defenders overplay her, she’s quick to blow by them and get all the way to the rim.

Gibson recorded a game-high 26 points, powering the Lions to a 46-31 triumph over Wildwood Catholic. The junior point guard was efficient in the paint and hit a game-high two three-pointers. Cherry Hill West improved to 13-5 with the victory and has won six of its last eight contests.

The lone returning starter for the defending Group 3 state champions, Gibson, is leading Cherry Hill West with 24 points per game. The junior point guard has knocked down 28 three-pointers, more than the rest of the team combined. She’s also shooting 90% from the free-throw line.

The junior point guard scored 28 points in a 47-37 victory over Clearview on Monday and followed it up with a 20-point performance in a 54-38 victory over Haddon Heights on Saturday. She’s now 29 points away from 1,000 career points.

Gibson looked nearly unstoppable in the first half, recording 22 points as the Lions held a 31-24 lead at intermission. The dynamic junior point guard ended with a game-high 28 in a 47-37 triumph for No. 14 Cherry Hill West over No. 18 Clearview. As the only returning starter for the defending Group 3 state champs, Gibson will be looking to carry the Lions throughout this campaign. She’s 49 points away from 1,000 for her career.
