About Kya
Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Kya was one of the best under-the-radar standouts at the PGH Michigan State Showcase. She has length, athleticism, and a complete skill set that translates to the next level. Kya started a game with a left-handed layup off the tip, attacked with a hard baseline drive to score a strong and-one layup, then tacked on the free throw. Kya swiped the ball away for a steal, switched hands in the open court, absorbed contact, then converted the and-one layup. She finished the three-point play from the charity stripe. Kya drained a smooth corner three, deflected a pass with her outside hand using textbook technique for the steal, and drove by for a left-handed layup off the bounce.

Kya has versatility and length as a wing-forward that stands out on film. She can score through contact, sink shots in the mid-range, and rack up steals with her aggressiveness on the defensive end. Kya switches hands in the lane to beat defenders off the dribble, dishes out assists, and finishes well at the rim with her right or left. She’ll be a potential stock riser at the Michigan State Showcase and I’m excited to see her compete in person for the first time.
