Laney returns for her junior season at Morley Stanwood after earning First Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore, and she should once again be an important piece for the defending CSAA White champions. The 2028 guard brings a nice combination of perimeter shooting, ball-handling and defensive ability to the floor. Offensively, Laney can be a dangerous threat from beyond the arc, especially when she finds her rhythm and starts knocking down shots. Her ability to get hot from three-point range makes her a player opposing defenses will need to keep an eye on. She also has good handles, allowing her to play with confidence when the basketball is in her hands. On the defensive end, Laney is a solid defender who can make things difficult for opposing guards. With Morley Stanwood losing a couple of key contributors to graduation, I expect Laney to take on an even bigger role this season as the Mohawks look to defend their conference title.
