Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Lauren became Norway’s all-time leading scorer (boys and girls) earlier this month, passing 1,378 career points during a 49-27 win at Iron Mountain. Lauren buried three smooth triples off the catch and the dribble in the game, pouring in 24 points with six steals and four rebounds. She maintains a balanced stance to fire accurate jumpers off the dribble. Lauren’s court vision, skilled passing, instincts off the ball, and perimeter accuracy stood out during the Zero Star Basketball Showcase. She committed to UW-Oshkosh in November and is an excellent addition to their 2026 recruiting class.

Lauren had an impressive junior campaign, earning First Team All-State honors while surpassing the 1,000-point milestone in her career. Despite battling through injuries, she continued to perform at an elite level, averaging 19.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.6 steals, and 2.9 assists per game. Her scoring ability and relentless effort on both ends of the court were key in guiding her team to the regional finals. Now entering her senior season, Lauren will look to build on that success and lead her team on an even deeper postseason run.

Lauren is a talented guard prospect who showed her next-level qualities at the Zero Star Showcase. Lauren knocked down threes efficiently from the wings and corners during drills. She used excellent pivots to protect the ball and create space during the 2v2 segment. Lauren worked hard to secure rebounds on both ends during the games and kept her eyes up while handling the ball to find teammates. Lauren moves to open space and knows how to get open–she’s a smart passer. Lauren pushed the ball with both hands in transition, dished a bounce pass to move the defender, then got the return pass to finish with a layup off two feet. She has great anticipation and quick hands on defense that resulted in many steals. Lauren had a notable day and will be a prospect to follow this July.

Lauren is a prolific scorer from Norway who hit 1,000 points in her junior year. She’s well decorated, boasting U.P. Dream Team, Skyline conference POY, Skyline conference Defensive POY, and BCAM First Team All-State. A long guard who can torment teams with her three-point shooting, create space with dynamic dribbles, finish at the rim, and play lockdown defense–I’m thrilled to watch Lauren compete at the Zero Star Showcase.

Lauren is a yooper hooper who puts up double-doubles frequently against her high school competition in the UP. She combines her quickness and length to create steals on the defensive end, using crossover moves to beat defenders on her way to the basket. Lauren is a constant 3-point threat and she buries many triples on any given night. She has good footwork finishing around the basket, blocks shots, and produces rebounds. Lauren is a hidden gem above the bridge that I look forward to watching this winter.
