After growing up and spending her Freshman year in the Lake Central system, Lauren is now at Illiana Christian, just five miles away. The Vikings are entering their sixth season as an IHSAA member school, and they are in a competitive Class 3A Sectional #18. Lauren brings a nice inside-out game to Illiana Christian. She has touch around the perimeter, a wiry-strong frame, and solid all-around athleticism. She is probably best in the mid-post, but she can also play/defend around the block when necessary, and she has a nice motor.

I saw Lauren back in the Fall and almost didn’t recognize her when I was able to see her at the end of July. She has gotten a little stronger, more physical around the basket, plus she has transferred from Lake Central to Illiana Christian ahead of her Sophomore year. Lauren has always been a nice inside-out forward. She has some touch around the perimeter and can bury jumpers, but she also plays hard and is willing to battle inside of 15-feet for rebounds. She eventually will be a solid wing defender, but she can also defend the paint.

I saw Lauren a couple of times throughout the weekend, but due to a roster update, I just figured out who she was yesterday. She played each game with consistency and a nice motor. She has some length, a wiry strength, and she’s a fairly smooth athlete. She showed the ability to score, rebound, and defend some inside, plus she knocked down open rhythm jumpers outside. I’m not sure how much she’ll grow, but she plays with a nice inside-out versatility. Originally a Lake Central kid, she has recently transferred to nearby Illiana Christian.
