Brian Tortella | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
One of the best overall players in the region, McGonigle averaged 16.2 points per game for Wildwood Catholic last winter. The junior point guard was the heart of the Crusaders’ offense, recording team-highs in points (470), assists (143), and three-pointers (84). Expect her to have another excellent season.

In a gym full of 3-point shooter, she shined particularly bright. Multiple stretches vs Westfield where she could not be contained from distance. It didn’t take long for her to get hot and get clicking. Once she saw one 3 drop, many more followed in rapid succession. Very solid playing both the 1 and 2. Fluid ball movement and sharp vision to find cutting players. Easy to see she that as terrific of a 3-point shooter as she is, she really prides herself on being a pass-first guard.

Her 3 ball was clicking early on vs JKMBA. Smooth stop & pop from the elbow. Exceptional mechanics and smart shot selection; doesn’t force up bad shots or shots that she’s not capable of making. Nice use of the floater. In an evening game vs Prep, played much faster and pushed the pace. She dealt with Prep’s stifling defense and moved the ball very well.

She shook off a slow start & got into a groove for the Crusaders, leading the way with 22 points and powering WWC to a win over Lower Moreland (PA). She showed lots of patience handling the ball; looked for gaps in the defense to fire off strong entry passes. Spicy backdoor cuts to the basket; quick attacks. Lola thrives in transition and is good at speeding out ahead of the pack. She scored the ball in a variety of ways, including a few floaters & three triples. Smart player and this team’s leader.
