London Powell
About London
Expert Analysis
Avi Burmenko | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
London impacts the game on both ends as a taller guard with versatility. She anticipates well defensively, jumping passing lanes and poking balls loose when opponents try to drive. Offensively, she moves intelligently without the ball, especially on backdoor cuts, and confidently knocks down shots from well beyond the three-point line. London can also play with her back to the basket, using her size and strength to score inside.

London recently reached the 1,000-point milestone as a junior, a major accomplishment at this stage of her career. She’s coming off several strong performances, including a 24-point, 6-rebound outing against Berkshire, where she shot the ball well. London plays with physicality around the basket, finishing through contact and creating second-chance points by crashing the offensive glass. She also has a strong handle, navigating through traffic and staying composed against defensive pressure.

Londyn Powell (2027) | CG | GFA
Powell was a regular stat-sheet-stuffer in her junior season. This year she has come out the gate swinging with a 19-point performance in a convincing 57-38 victory over Miss Porter’s. The reclass is serving her well and she’s looking better than ever to start. GFA will be in good hands with Powell’s reliability.

London did a great job not settling for jumpers and, instead, getting into the lane and creating contact with opposing defenders. In the Empire State Blue Flames 16U Power 24 game against United NJ 16u Power 24, London got to the line 14 times and her ability to control the ball without turning it over kept the game close before the Empire pressure changed the game. On a team of impressive guards, London did a great job knowing when to attack and when to facilitate. After getting in the lane several times, she had the defense on their heels and took advantage by showcasing her pull up jumper.
