Lydia has had an exceptional season for Lansing Christian, producing double-digit points nearly every game. Her shooting percentage increased in multiple categories this season, which is a testament to her hard work in the gym refining her technique. The team improved their previous 6-12 record to 11-5 in the CMAC this season. Lydia has excellent balance and mechanics on her shot, but also scores inside using effective pivoting footwork. She accelerates to score layups off the dribble, dishes strong passes to teammates, and works hard to secure rebounds. I was extremely impressed by her skills and character on the court; Lydia is a fantastic pickup for the Wheaton program.

Lydia is a well-known sniper from 3-point range, but she used her dribble to create scoring opportunities against Saranac on Wednesday. Lydia used effective pivots in the paint to score step-through layups with a soft touch off the glass. She caused fouls by driving hard to the rim and showed her smooth shooting stroke by hitting six free throws from the charity stripe. Lydia aggressively chased down multiple offensive rebounds, kicked the ball to open teammates, actively communicated on the court, and demonstrated receptiveness to coaching. She intercepted a pass, pushed the ball in top gear, and scored a strong left-handed and-one layup. Lydia led the Pilgrims with 14 points and will be an exciting addition to the Wheaton College Women’s Basketball program next season.

Lydia earned a Second Team All-Conference selection as a junior, but she will be in a great position to challenge for a First Team nomination in 2024. Lydia causes matchup challenges for opponents with her length, strength, and shooting efficiency. Lydia scores inside using quality pivots and step-throughs but also drains perimeter shots beyond the arc. She rebounds, blocks shots, and contributes in every aspect to help the team succeed. Lydia is a must-watch prospect for the Pilgrims this winter.

Lydia earned BCAM’s Best HM D4 honors last season and is a small school hooper with next-level upside. She uses excellent footwork to score around defenders in the paint, drives hard to score layups off the dribble, and has a smooth outside shot. Lydia finishes well off two feet, has a clean step-back jumper off the bounce, and uses her length to block shots.
