About Madeline

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a shooting guard on my high school team but at times help run the point especially when full court pressure. My coach says he can rely on me to take care of the ball. I have worked hard to gain confidence reading the ball increasing my average to 3 steals per game. Recently I have been challenged to step into more a forward role with my height and strength learning how to hit the board

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love the game of basketball and want other to love it as well therefore my younger teammates know they can come to me if they are struggling to understand a drill or play. My coaches and team awarded me teammate of they year. I am not afraid of hard work and hardly ever miss an opportunity to get in the gym.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of HOSA, I have recieved Academic letters every year and recently was inducted into the National Honor Society. Chosen to participate in the Summit Technology Business and Financial Tech program

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through my classwork at Summit Tech I have learned how to work effectively in groups. As a part of this program we often do presentations and public speaking. This program has really pushed me out of my comfort zone and challenged me in a good way.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My 8th grade year towards the end of season I suffered a serious ankle injury that kept me out for over 7 months before I could return to play. It showed me how much I loved the sport and made me a better player for that reason.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a school that has a strong academic reputation and have the opportunity to play basketball.
