Talented kid who has solid court vision. She can shoot from the arc at a high clip and finish at the rim. She’s great at controlling the pace and space for her club, being selfless, and getting her teammates open looks. She had a great first live period, and she isn’t done yet. This prospect will continue to grow and be a solid foundational piece for her school team. Keep tabs on this young lady, as she is a fearless leader who will turn collegiate coaches’ heads down the stretch.

In just her first year of high school hoops, Madlynn Springs is making an impact for Cumberland County.

Spriggs, this season in 16 recorded games had made 49 threes on 36% shooting. She has also had several games making two or more threes this season. This includes a contest against one of the best teams in the country, Bradley Central. Spriggs, despite the skill of her opponent, showed no fear and laced in six threes.

Spriggs also has other notable aspects to her game. She is a great creator and rebounder at the guard position. In a game against Concord Christian this season, she displayed this by getting 10 rebounds and five assists.

Spriggs knows how to come up big. Another one of the standout freshmen on this season’s 3A Cumberland County roster, She was part of an offensive onslaught for her Jets that completely overwhelmed its West Virginia adversary in Musselman. One has to guard Spriggs hard on the perimeter because she will take advantage of a defensive lapse to drain 3-pointer after 3-pointer after 3-pointer. She had 28 in that contest against the Lady Applemen. Spriggs will also leave defenses confused with her ability to find driving lanes to the rim – and some of those occasions can result in her scoring three the old-fashioned way.
