About Makayla
Expert Analysis
Bret Swanson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Makayla remains one of the top players in the Palmetto State that is still uncommitted for next season. Makayla does a great job of handling the ball in the backcourt. She currently has her Lady Titans as the top seed in the SCISA Class 4A State Tourney starting today.
Makayla has the green light when it comes to shooting the ball from the perimeter. She feels very comfortable coming down the floor at times and letting a 25-foot jumper go. Makayla really does a nice job of seeing the floor and finding an open teammate in the process. She currently has over 1,300 career points in her high school career.
Legette made the move from #20 to #14 in this last update of the 2025 Palmetto State Rankings.

SCISA 4A Trinity Collegiate’s matchup with SCHSL 4A Lugoff-Elgin evolved into a classic tale of two halves. While the Demons looked to give the Titans a scare in the first half, Legette led her team to a comfortable 84-51 triumph. Legette finished with 21 points and the bulk of her damage came in the second half. She is as every bit as dangerous on defense as she is on offense. On a number of occasions in the third quarter, Legette managed to collect a steal from a Lugoff-Elgin ball handler and turn it into two points. Legette keeps defenses guessing with her rim attacking abilities along with her 3-point shooting and understands when the right times are to score and distribute.

After establishing herself at 1A Latta as one of the state’s premier 2025s, Legette has taken her talents to the SCISA ranks with 4A Trinity Collegiate. Legette led the Titans to the South Bracket championship with 21 points en route to a 56-44 victory over 4A Greer. What impresses about Legette is her ball handling capabilities which compliment her ability to put crooked numbers on the scoreboard. Legette has played her AAU ball with Team GBMS Elite. She has played at the varsity level since she was an eighth grader and also shines in the rebounding game and as a defender.
