Maliyah was very impressive at Pride Basketball 21 practice when I saw her for the first time, and has continued to demonstrate her potential as a promising prospect throughout the spring. Maliyah has explosive quickness and shifty handles that make her a tough guard to stay in front of off the dribble. She is extremely competitive and finishes through contact at the rim. Maliyah pressures the ball from sideline to sideline and generates many steals on the defensive end. She looks ready to have a breakout sophomore season for Saginaw United.

Maliyah was one of the most competitive players on the court at Pride Basketball 21 practice. She threw a pass that was stolen and immediately chased down the ball to steal it right back. Maliyah had a quick change of direction and burst with her dribble that made her very difficult to defend. She exploited gaps and scored several layups using crossovers. Maliyah called for the ball and kept her feet ready to shoot on the catch. She worked hard on defense and led the team in steals. Maliyah chased the ball all over the court, was a leader during sprints, and showed athleticism that makes her an exciting point guard to watch.
