Speaking of noteworthy standouts from the Pee Dee, Williams also belongs on that list. Following a first-round tournament victory at Whale Branch, the Swamp Foxes traveled to Chesterfield for the second round of the 2A playoffs. Not only did the Swamp Foxes earn a 50-27 victory over the Rams, Williams would reach the 1,000-point plateau for her career. Marion recently completed a 2025-26 campaign that resulted in a Lower State semifinals berth. Williams will soon trade in her burgundy and gold Swamp Foxes uniform for a cap and gown given she is one of five seniors that are part of Marion’s 2026 graduating class. She averaged 12 points, 5.3 rebounds and three steals this past season.

The draw for the homestanding Swamp Foxes of 2A Marion was a tough one – one of the state’s premier 4A teams in Wilson. Williams ensured that her Swamp Foxes would be able to hold its own against the Tigers as she paced her team’s efforts with 14 points. Williams is listed as a wing given her ability to play as a small forward or as a shooting guard. She can also assume the role of a point guard considering her ability to organize an offense in a halfcourt set. A good portion of Williams’ offense is a byproduct of her defense and she does not shy away from contact that can place her at the free throw line.

The star junior for the Swamp Foxes maintains a very full athletic plate. When basketball is not the main sport on her brains, she competes in volleyball as well as softball. Marion is a regional rival of host Manning, so getting a win at the home of the Monarchs had to feel additionally sweet. The Swamp Foxes have Williams in large part for the victory her team notched against defending 5A champion Sumter. She scored 21 points – including the go-ahead contested layup with one second remaining on the clock where Williams also drew contact to go to the free throw line. Williams has played at the varsity since the 2021-22 season when she was an eighth grader.
