Maryn is a high IQ player who thrives on the court with her sharp decision-making. She consistently identifies gaps in the defense to attack and knows the perfect moments to let it fly, making her one of the top shooters in the 2026 class. Quick on her feet and always a step ahead, Maryn anticipates plays before the ball even reaches her hands. Her ability to read the game and be a constant offensive threat sets her apart as a key player for her team.

King is a guard whose outside shooting has been a big part of her teams’ offense this spring. She is excellent at capitalizing on any space afforded her outside with some good footwork to get set, and can knock shots down from just about every approach. It doesn’t take opposing teams long to figure out they have to stay close to King but she has the quickness and guile to continually use screens and move off the ball to get open for the long ball.

One of my favorite players to watch in the state, as she continues to show improvements in her game when she is out on the court. She is known for being a lights out shooter from deep but her offensive game is much more well rounded than that. She knows how to attack with the dribble to create shots for herself or her teammates. King can defend at a high level too, providing a spark for her team.

Maryn displayed her ability to score from all levels on the court this season. She still was a lights out three point shooter, being able to release her shot quickly before defenders can close out. She can bring the ball up or play the two guard position and be just as effect when playing either. She handles ball pressure well and keeps her eyes up to see open teammates. She is primed for a big AAU season with NW Legends.

Maryn is a lethal shooter that’ll make you pay if you give her enough space. She’s super comfortable shooter from three-point range, and when defender begin to step up, she can look to attack the paint and give the defense a different look. If she continues her rebounding effort and makes an even bigger statement on the defensive end, she could make a huge jump in the class of 2026 rankings.

Maryn is a phenomenal shooter from deep, easily sinking deep shots from the arc. She has a quick release which helps her get her shot off before defenders can react. After defenders star to over play, she then is able to use her speed and quick first step to drive right by defenders. She rebounds well for a guard, always crashing the boards and being aggressive.

Maryn is solid guard who plays with some toughness. She does a few things well, she has a beautiful looking jumper from three, she rebounded well for her size, and she gets up into other guards on defense. She has quick feet and her ball pressure seems to come naturally although she was putting in maximum effort on the defensive end of the floor all tournament long. She has good court awareness and will also value the ball, not turning it over with careless mistakes. Don’t be surprised to see her drop threes fairly often next season. You can’t tell me she hasn’t worked on her shooting. She made some threes last season but not at a high percentage. That may well change next season. She is aggressive and not afraid to mix it up under the basket. A much bigger role awaits next season and so does a much improved player.

King has a pretty stroke from downtown and shoots it well off the catch and the dribble. She exhibits great footwork on the perimeter to hit step-backs or sidestep defenders, and she’s also able to find room in the midrange with some slick footwork. She can score off of multiple gathers, shows good touch from all ranges, and should play a big role for Tahoma this winter.

Maryn is a talented guard who has so much talent surrounding her as well. She knows how to fill her role that is needed in order to help the team win. She gives 110% effort on the defensive side of the ball and has quick feet to react to opposing players trying to drive to the bucket. King is a knock down shooter so defenders need to be aware of where she is.

How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season? rn-I think my team performed pretty well this season. We weren’t expected to get to the dome but we got to the quarter finals at State. I don’t think we played as well at the Dome as we would have liked to because I know we are better than we showed. But it was a good experience for us. I had a bit of an off season and expect to play much better this summer and next year.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-This season we were faced with a lot of change. We lost 4 talented seniors last year and had a change in the coaching staff as well. I think we adjusted to these changes well and better than anyone thought we could.
What do you think you improved most on the court? rn-I think I improved on becoming more of a team player. We learned that in order to win someone was going to have a good night but that it wouldn’t always be the same person.
What are you looking to improve before next season? rn-I’ve been working to improve my left hand ball handling and learning more ways to finish through contact around the basket. I’m also working on being more vocal on the floor.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes? rn-This year: Bailey had one of the highest 3 point shooting percentage in the state and led team in scoring as a sophomore.

get recognized as first team all league this season Next year: We have a lot of girls coming back and a lot of younger players who are really competitive as well. I feel like the Tahoma program is really deep and the competition to make varsity is going to be intense. I think most of our JV would play varsity at other high schools. Everyone is working hard now with their club teams to get better for next season.
