Melanie is a good guard who plays with good pace on the floor. She is a good handler allowing herself to sped up by defensive pressure. She does a great job of seeing the floor to find gaps to score, or set her teammate up for easy buckets. She stuffs the stat sheet and she scores the ball in a variety of ways. Was a good contributor for a James Monroe team that made the title game last season.

Melanie is a tough, physical guard who embraces contact and plays with an aggressive mindset on both ends of the floor. She doesn’t shy away from pressure or physical play, instead using it to her advantage to impose her will during drives to the basket. Her strength allows her to absorb contact and still finish plays, often converting through bumps or drawing fouls in the process. She has a powerful first step that helps her get downhill quickly, and once she gets a shoulder past her defender, she’s difficult to stop without fouling.
