About Mercy

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a physical player who rebounds aggressively, protects the pain, sets effective screens, and provides efficient scoring around the basket.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am hardworking, coachable, and team oriented. I am an athlete that leads by example, and I take pride in being dependable, maintaining a positive attitude, and continually working to improve my skills. I respond well to coaching, embrace challenges, and strive to make those around me better on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I am a member of the National Honor Society. I receive high honors for my excellent grades in school. I am involved in the non-profit organization called Addie Ray Racing who helps individuals with disabilities participate in endurance events such as half marathons and triathlons.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through my involvement in team sports such as basketball and volleyball and also through my involvement with Addie Ray Racing I have developed valuable leadership and team work skills by working collaboratively with crew members, sponsors, family, and supporters to achieve shared goals. All of these experiences have helped me become a stronger leader, a better teammate, and more active.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of my biggest challenges was when my team decided to dissolve. The team had become like a second family, and I had built strong relationships with the people I worked with both on and off the court. Suddenly, losing the support system required me to adapt quickly, but still remain focused on my goals. I learned different ways to communicate with new teammates and focused on working together.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that will challenge me academically, provide opportunities to grow as a student-athlete, and foster a strong sense of community. I want to be a part of a program that values hard work, leadership, teamwork, and personal development.
