Providence has put out some strong talent, and LaMonte has a chance to etch her name into that group as the years go on. As of now, she has a solid skill set and can get to her spots and angles without the extra dribbles. She’s consistent with her go to moves and how she looks to score, doing what she has to do to get it done. She’ll either put pressure on the defense by knocking down the three or get to the rim for a soft but high arching floater. There’s still some sharpening and adding to her skill set that needs to be done, but there’s nothing but time on her side.

LaMonte plays the game with a strong sense of feel to the game, especially when she slides into the point guard position. She shows the IQ of when to lead the pass, or when to throw it on a dime. From a scoring standpoint, she can get to the rim in a few moves, and seems to have a good sense of how to finish over the bigs or around.

LaMonte’s defense will be key to her being impactful when she gets those varsity minutes. She’s a scrappy player who isn’t afraid to dive headfirst into the mix. She can contest on the perimeter and cause second thoughts on the drive. Offensively, she can stretch beyond the three and can use some speed to finish at the rim.

Lamonte’s game is effortless, but it’s a great mix of skill and instincts. She’s productive on both ends of the ball, but offensively is where you see more of her comfort level. Beyond scoring, she just has a strong IQ that allows her to be a true combo guard.

LaMonte has a solid foundation of skill. She doesn’t need much to score, and plays the game with a decent amount of speed and pace.
