Michelle is about as reliable and consistent as any player in the state rebounding the basketball while also being a threat to score in the painted area. I watched Michelle play several times this summer with Redline and Lanier. It was de ja vu all over again every time as she used her explosiveness and power to clear the glass on both ends of the court, while putting the ball in the basket around the rim with her dominant left hand. Ezumah does a very good job blocking and altering shots on defense as well and does not hesitate sprinting the floor in transition looking for easy scores. Normally in that order. She is one of the more underrated players in her class who has the chance to be a big time addition to the right college program. After week one of the Sandy Spiel Fall League, Michelle sits in the top 10 in both points (16) and rebounds (8) which comes as no surprise here.

Ezumah dominates the paint with athleticism and effort. Michelle is an elite rebounder and one of the more effective rim protectors in the class because of her explosive leaping ability and rapid second jump. She’s a pogo stick around the basket, constantly elevating for rebounds, blocks and putbacks.

Offensively, Michelle shows impressive touch finishing with either hand around the rim. Even though she’s naturally right-handed, she looks equally comfortable scoring with her left which makes her difficult to defend inside. Her athleticism extends far beyond the halfcourt as well. Ezumah runs the floor like a guard and becomes dangerous leading the break coast-to-coast after securing rebounds. Defensively, she cleans up mistakes as a last line of defense while also possessing the mobility to pressure the ball at the top of presses and traps.

Michelle brought strong energy on the glass by skying for rebounds on both ends with intensity. On the offensive boards, she did a great job either tipping the ball in or quickly elevating for putbacks. She has a nice stroke that keeps defenders honest and a strong frame that allows her to play through contact. She finished well at the rim, consistently kept plays alive, and made her presence felt defensively with a few big, emphatic blocks.

Ezumah had stretches of the game where she flat out dominated the competition. She has very good size and strength which she used well for positioning in the post and blocking out to grab rebounds. One very impressive sequence saw Ezumah grab the rebound on one end drive the ball coast to coast before using some excellent footwork to finish around the defender. She handles the ball great for a player her size and position. Offensively Ezumah played on the attack with aggression and was able to impose her will at times. She finished the game with 22 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks.

Ezumah keeps improving with added strength and balance. She’s a relentless rebounder, scoring second-chance points and finishing with her left. Now more mobile with the ball, Ezumah can initiate transition and attack off the bounce. Elite defender.

Ezumah’s versatility is on display weekly. The lanky forward runs the floor like a gazelle. She blocks shots, rebounds and now scores with both hands. Michelle pushes the ball coast to coast. A league MVP candidate, Ezumah posted 13 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 blocks against North Oconee.

Once Michelle arrived after missing the first portion of the first half, everything changed in favor of Lanier. Ezumah is an elite rim protector and rebounder with a non-stop motor. She beat the opposition down the floor to clean up misses on transition layups for putbacks. Michelle maneuvered for buckets with her back to the basket just below the free throw line, showing deft footwork and a soft touch in traffic. Michelle mustered 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 4 blocks in a 41-34 win over Jackson County. Listed at 5-foot-11, Ezumah is as impactful as any post in the state of Georgia.

Up from 71: Michelle continues to elevate her game. She has added strength to her frame, which has helped her absorb contact and finish plays inside. Her rebounding is consistent, often giving her team multiple chances on a single possession. She has become more mobile and now handles the ball in transition, using her long strides to get downhill and score.
