The 2025-26 season for Carolina Forest arrived at a conclusion at the hands of Lexington in the Lower State portion of the 5A Division 1 tournament. That defeat for the Panthers also brought a conclusion to Mclean’s basketball career. She is now transitioning to college life at Division I Kennesaw State where she will put her full emphasis on track and field. Mclean was also one of three team co-captains for this season’s Carolina Forest team. Whoever fills Mclean’s shoes as the leader of the Panthers’ frontcourt has a tough act to follow. Mclean averaged a double-double of 15 points and 11.5 rebounds plus 3.8 blocks and 3.1 steals in her senior season.

Back in December, McLean made news when she announced she would commit to Kennesaw State for track and field. As evidenced by McLean reaching the 1,000-point mark for her basketball career, she has made her presence felt in both athletic disciplines. She has competed in 13 games this season and has averaged 15.3 points, six rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.8 blocks per contest. McLean has also been getting closer to the 1,000-rebound distinction as well. McLean’s Panthers have an overall record of 12-4 as of this writing and a region mark of 4-1, trailing only North Myrtle Beach in the Region 6-AAAAA standings. Carolina Forest earned a ranking of eighth in the most recent 5A Division 1 coaches’ poll.

For this talented standout from 5A Division 1 Carolina Forest, extending her career into the college ranks is not only a matter of where to go, but which sport to hone in on. McLean’s talents can be seen in both basketball and track and field and she landed in-state offers from Converse for both athletic disciplines back in late August after an official visit to the school. McLean put together another impressive season for the Panthers. She played in 28 games for a Carolina Forest team that finished with a record of 25-4 plus winning its all-Horry County Region 6-AAAAA. McLean averaged 14.8 points, nine rebounds, 4.1 blocks and 1.9 steals per contest.

McLean already held a pair of basketball offers – from Denmark Tech and USC-Salkehatchie. Last month, McLean added a track and field offer from UMass-Lowell to her resume. In fact, she qualified for the USATF Nationals in the triple jump and long jump. McLean’s athletic resume has also included volleyball. She was a major reason why last season’s Carolina Forest team went 25-4 and won its region. McLean played in 28 games last season with the Panthers and averaged 14.8 points, nine rebounds, 4.1 blocks and 1.9 steals a game.

The 5A Division 1 Panthers of Carolina Forest were able to lean on McLean en route to a stellar 25-4 record and a region championship by running the table in Region 6-AAAAA. She played in 28 games this past season and averaged 14.8 points and nine rebounds. McLean is another that is difficult to score against as evidenced by the 4.1 blocks she had in 2024-25. She is a multi-sport athlete who also competes in volleyball and track alongside her basketball accomplishments and is a two-time high jump state champion. McLean is another talent from the stacked Palmetto 76ers/A’ja Wilson Elite organization.

Miracle is a great athlete who really can cover a lot of ground all over the floor. She has a tremendous wingspan to cause havoc down in the paint. Miracle has good bounce and quick feet to fill the lane in transition. She must get stronger down the road and learn on how to play through contact better. The tools are certainly there to be a very good player down the road.

That old adage is true that height is an attribute of the game that simply cannot be coached. Either one has it or one does not. Some have the height but not the skill or vice versa. McLean has both. The rising star for 5A Carolina Forest contributed eight points in what was a balanced but effective barrage to dispatch of One Team One Dream on Sunday at Lexington HS. That 6-foot-2 frame that McLean brings comes in very useful not only as a scorer but also in terms of rebounding. One also has to display a high degree of athleticism to not only compete in basketball but in track and field as well. College coaches who will be in search of a talented big in a couple of years may want to pay a visit to the Grand Strand to see this stock riser in action.
